Tilting Disk Type Check Valve

Designed for high-flow pipeline systems where rapid response and low pressure loss are essential, the Tilting Disk Type Check Valve provides automatic protection against reverse flow without requiring external actuation. Its disc pivots around a horizontal axis, allowing the disc to move quickly with changes in flow direction while reducing the travel distance and impact associated with conventional swing check valves. This configuration helps minimize water hammer and supports stable operation in demanding pipeline services.

The Tilting Disk Type Check Valve is particularly suitable for oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, water treatment, and large-scale process systems. Its streamlined flow passage, low-pressure-drop characteristics, and fast closing response make it an effective solution for pump discharge lines, compressor systems, and other applications where reverse-flow protection and flow efficiency are critical.

Features & Benefits

Protects piping systems by automatically preventing backflow and maintaining process integrity. Features & Benefits

Tilting Disc Mechanism

The disc pivots around its axis, enabling shorter travel and faster response to changes in flow direction.

Reduced Pressure Drop

The streamlined internal passage allows efficient fluid flow with lower resistance compared with many conventional check valve designs.

Fast Closing Response

The disc can return rapidly toward the seat when forward flow decreases, helping limit reverse-flow velocity.

Reduced Water Hammer

Controlled disc movement and shorter closing travel help reduce pressure surges associated with sudden flow reversal.

Stable Operation at High Flow Rates

The balanced disc design supports smooth operation in large-diameter and high-capacity pipeline systems.

Minimal Maintenance

Automatic operation requires no external power or actuator, reducing the number of operating components and routine intervention.

Reliable Reverse-Flow Protection

The disc automatically responds to flow conditions to prevent unwanted backflow and protect pumps, compressors, and process equipment.

Suitable for Large-Diameter Pipelines

The design is well adapted to high-capacity lines where low flow resistance and rapid valve response are important.

Flexible Material & Trim Options

Body, disc, shaft, and seating materials can be selected to match pressure, temperature, corrosion, and media requirements.

Wide Range of Applications

Suitable for oil & gas pipelines, petrochemical plants, power stations, pump systems, compressor stations, water treatment, and other high-flow process applications.

FAQ

Q What is a check valve used for?

Check valves automatically prevent reverse flow, protecting pumps, compressors, pipelines, and other equipment.

Q How does a check valve work?

The valve opens automatically when fluid flows in the correct direction and closes when flow reverses, preventing backflow.

Q What are the differences between swing, dual plate, and axial flow check valves?

Swing check valves are suitable for general service, dual plate valves are compact and lightweight, while axial flow valves minimize pressure loss and reduce water hammer.

Q How do I choose the right check valve?

Selection depends on flow conditions, pressure, temperature, installation orientation, and the type of process media.

Q Can check valves reduce water hammer?

Yes. Dual plate and axial flow check valves are specifically designed to reduce water hammer through faster closing action.

Q Which industries commonly use check valves?

Check valves are widely used in oil & gas, water treatment, chemical processing, power generation, HVAC, and marine industries.
