Contract Value: RMB 4.77 Million

Project Introduction

The Ordos 2 million m3 LNG storage project is one of the largest natural gas infrastructure initiatives in Inner Mongolia. The facility requires cryogenic valves capable of reliable operation at temperatures down to -196C under high-pressure conditions. Valve sealing integrity and fugitive emission control are critical for both operational safety and environmental compliance.

Technical Challenges

Many industrial facilities face significant operational risks when standard valves are used in high-pressure environments.Typical Problems Include:

Extreme Cryogenic Conditions

Valves must maintain sealing performance and material toughness at -196C operating temperatures, where standard materials become brittle.

Fugitive Emission Control

Strict environmental regulations require ISO 15848-1 low fugitive emission certification for all valve types in LNG service.

High Differential Pressure

Large pressure differentials across isolation points demand robust seat design and anti-blowout stem construction.

Safety-Critical Application

LNG storage facilities require fire-safe valves (API 607) and emergency shutdown capability to prevent catastrophic release.

What We Provided

Kaiwei Valve supplied a comprehensive valve package tailored for cryogenic LNG service:

1Trunnion mounted ball valves with extended bonnet design for cryogenic insulation

2Forged steel gate valves with pressure-seal bonnet for high-pressure isolation

3Swing check valves engineered for low-temperature flow reversal prevention

4All valves supplied with ISO 15848-1 low fugitive emission certification

5API 607 fire-safe design for critical safety applications

6Full material traceability with EN 10204 3.1 certificates

7Pre-delivery hydrostatic and cryogenic performance testing with certified reports

Products Supplied

Kaiwei Valve supplied a comprehensive valve package tailored for cryogenic LNG service:

Project Results

· All valves passed cryogenic testing and site acceptance without defect

· Zero leakage recorded during commissioning and initial operation phase

· Fugitive emission levels confirmed below ISO 15848-1 requirements

· Project completed on schedule with no valve-related delays

· Client subsequently placed repeat orders for additional LNG facility phases
