Swing Check Valve

Designed for dependable one-way flow protection, the Swing Check Valve automatically prevents reverse flow by allowing the disc to open under forward flow and return to the closed position when flow reverses. Its simple hinged-disc mechanism provides unobstructed flow characteristics and dependable operation without the need for external actuation. The straightforward construction makes it a practical choice for pipelines and process systems where reliable backflow prevention is required.

The Swing Check Valve is suitable for applications across oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical processing, power generation, water treatment, and general industrial services. With a range of body, seat, and end-connection configurations available, it can be adapted to different pressure classes, temperatures, and process media while helping protect pumps, compressors, and downstream equipment from reverse flow.

Operation method

The valve clack can be automatically opened and closed with the medium force, movement weight can be increased to facilitate fast closing of valve clack, hydraulic cylinder can be increased to facilitate slow closing of valve clack to prevent vibration of pipeline, and pigging can be performed through manual opening and locking the valve clack at the opening position.

Application fields

For application in fields such as electric power industry, petroleum refining, petrochemical engineering, offshore oil, tap water engineering in urban construction, chemical engineering, etc.

Features & Benefits

Protects piping systems by automatically preventing backflow and maintaining process integrity.

Hinged Disc Design

The disc swings freely on a hinge, opening with forward flow and closing automatically when flow direction changes.

Automatic Operation

No external actuator or power source is required, simplifying the valve arrangement and reducing operating components.

Low Flow Resistance

The disc moves fully away from the flow path under suitable operating conditions, allowing efficient fluid passage.

Effective Backflow Prevention

Automatic disc closure helps protect pumps, compressors, vessels, and other equipment from reverse-flow damage.

Simple & Proven Construction

A straightforward internal mechanism facilitates reliable operation and simplifies inspection and servicing.

FAQ

Q What is a check valve used for?

Check valves automatically prevent reverse flow, protecting pumps, compressors, pipelines, and other equipment.

Q How does a check valve work?

The valve opens automatically when fluid flows in the correct direction and closes when flow reverses, preventing backflow.

Q What are the differences between swing, dual plate, and axial flow check valves?

Swing check valves are suitable for general service, dual plate valves are compact and lightweight, while axial flow valves minimize pressure loss and reduce water hammer.

Q How do I choose the right check valve?

Selection depends on flow conditions, pressure, temperature, installation orientation, and the type of process media.

Q Can check valves reduce water hammer?

Yes. Dual plate and axial flow check valves are specifically designed to reduce water hammer through faster closing action.

Q Which industries commonly use check valves?

Check valves are widely used in oil & gas, water treatment, chemical processing, power generation, HVAC, and marine industries.
