Pneumatic Gate Valve

Designed for automated pipeline isolation, the Pneumatic Gate Valve combines a robust gate valve body with a pneumatic actuator to provide reliable and efficient on/off control in industrial fluid systems. The pneumatic actuation system enables rapid valve operation and allows the valve to be integrated into centralized control and process automation systems.

With a linear gate movement and full-port flow path, the valve provides effective isolation with minimal pressure drop when fully open. The pneumatic actuator can be configured with single-acting or double-acting operation, while accessories such as solenoid valves, limit switches, air filter regulators, and position monitoring devices can be supplied according to control requirements.

The Pneumatic Gate Valve is widely used in oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical processing, power generation, water treatment, mining, and industrial automation systems, particularly where frequent remote operation and dependable pipeline isolation are required.

Features & Benefits

Pneumatic Automatic Operation

The pneumatic actuator converts compressed air into linear valve movement, enabling efficient automatic operation without manual intervention.

Fast Response

Pneumatic actuation provides rapid opening and closing, making the valve suitable for process systems requiring timely isolation.

Remote Control Capability

The valve can be operated from a centralized control system, supporting automated plants and reducing the need for on-site manual operation.

Reliable Isolation

The gate mechanism provides positive shut-off when the valve is fully closed, making it suitable for pipeline isolation and equipment protection.

Full-Port Flow Passage

When fully open, the gate retracts from the flow path, providing low flow resistance and helping minimize pressure loss across the valve.

Flexible Actuator Configuration

Single-acting and double-acting pneumatic actuators can be selected according to the required operating philosophy and fail-safe requirements.

Integrated Control Accessories

Solenoid valves, limit switches, air filter regulators, position indicators, and other pneumatic accessories can be integrated to meet different automation requirements.

Suitable for Automated Process Systems

The valve can be incorporated into PLC, DCS, SCADA, and other industrial control systems for centralized valve monitoring and operation.

Heavy-Duty Construction

Robust body, gate, and stem components provide reliable mechanical performance under demanding industrial operating conditions.

Wide Industrial Applications

Suitable for petrochemical plants, oil & gas pipelines, chemical processing facilities, power plants, water treatment systems, mining facilities, and automated industrial processes.

FAQ

Q What is a gate valve used for?

Gate valves provide full open or full close isolation with minimal pressure loss, making them ideal for pipelines requiring unrestricted flow.

Q Why are gate valves not recommended for throttling?

Gate valves are designed for isolation rather than flow regulation. Operating them partially open may cause vibration, erosion, and premature seat damage.

Q What is the difference between wedge and expanding gate valves?

Wedge gate valves are commonly used for general isolation, while expanding gate valves provide mechanical sealing and bidirectional zero leakage for critical pipeline services.

Q What bonnet types are available?

Gate valves are available with bolted bonnet, pressure-seal bonnet, and welded bonnet designs depending on operating pressure and temperature.

Q What materials are commonly used?

Common materials include carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, duplex stainless steel, and other special alloys for severe-service conditions.

Q Which industries commonly use gate valves?

Gate valves are widely used in oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, pipeline transmission, water treatment, and mining.
