Cryogenic Gate Valve

Engineered for extreme low-temperature services, the Cryogenic Gate Valve provides dependable isolation for LNG, liquefied gases, and other cryogenic media where conventional valve designs may be affected by thermal contraction and material embrittlement. Its extended bonnet construction positions the stem packing and operating components away from the cold zone, while specially selected low-temperature materials and sealing components maintain pressure-boundary integrity throughout cryogenic operation and thermal cycling.

The Cryogenic Gate Valve is particularly suited for LNG terminals, liquefaction and regasification facilities, cryogenic storage and transportation systems, natural gas processing, and industrial gas applications. Its full-bore flow passage, low flow resistance, and robust isolation mechanism make it an effective choice for critical cryogenic pipeline and process services requiring secure shut-off and dependable low-temperature performance.

Features & Benefits

Cryogenic Material Selection

Body, gate, stem, and trim materials are selected to retain toughness and mechanical integrity at extremely low temperatures.

Extended Bonnet Design

The extended bonnet creates a thermal barrier between the cryogenic fluid and stem packing, helping maintain seal performance and prevent excessive cold exposure.

Reliable Isolation

The gate provides positive shut-off with minimal obstruction to the flow path when fully open.

Full-Bore Flow Passage

The unobstructed bore minimizes pressure loss and allows efficient movement of cryogenic media through the pipeline.

Thermal Cycling Resistance

Sealing and pressure-boundary components are designed to accommodate repeated temperature changes during start-up, shutdown, and normal operation.

Low Flow Resistance

The raised gate clears the flow passage completely when open, making the valve suitable for systems where pressure drop must be minimized.

Low-Temperature Sealing

Specialized packing and seat configurations help maintain containment despite thermal contraction and dimensional changes.

Fire-Safe Configuration Available

Fire-safe designs can be specified for critical LNG and hydrocarbon services and tested to applicable standards.

Maintenance-Friendly Arrangement

Accessible stem and bonnet components facilitate inspection and servicing while keeping critical operating components away from the cold zone.

Wide Cryogenic Application Range

Suitable for LNG plants, storage tanks, loading and unloading systems, regasification facilities, natural gas processing, and industrial gas installations.
